Commercial Cleaning Costs in 2026
How Much Does it Cost to Keep Your Building Clean?
Updated October 2026 by Jason Hankins, Accounting Manager @ The Verity Partners Group
In 2026, the average cost of commercial cleaning is $0.05–$0.15 per square foot or $27–$50+ per manhour, driven by the size of your space, the kind of facility it is, and how often it’s cleaned. For hard floor strip & refinish you'll be closer to $0.30–$0.60 per square foot or $45-$90 per hour. For small offices this can range from $75 to $100 per visit for standard cleaning and $300 - $450+ for larger offices and facilities.
How do you calculate your commercial cleaning rate?
The Verity Partners Group calculates our rate by estimating the man hours needed to clean your facility (based on square footage, building type, and frequency), then multiplying that by our hourly labor cost, and adding supplies/equipment, overhead, and a profit margin. We provide fully transparent quotes as a flat monthly price, or price per service rate.

The VPG 90-Day Guarantee
We've built our nearly 35 year legacy
3 months at a time.
At The Verity Partners Group, our simple, straightforward service agreement starts with a 90-day commitment.*
After that, you’re month-to-month, with nothing more than 30 days’ written notice required to say goodbye. No questions asked.
That’s the VPG Guarantee: we’re confident enough in our people, our process, and our service to give you the freedom to decide what happens next. We don’t need to lock you into a long-term contract to keep your business. We believe we should earn it.
For nearly 35 years, we’ve never required long-term contracts because, frankly, we’ve never had to. Our average client has been with us for over six years, and many have trusted us with their commercial janitorial services for decades.
We believe in earning your business—and your trust—service by service, month by month, year by year. If we’re doing our job, you’ll want us to stay. And if we’re not, you shouldn’t have to fight your way out of a contract to move on.
Which begs the question: Why do other cleaning companies require long-term contracts that automatically renew and often come with confusing, complicated termination language?
Yeah. We’ve wondered that, too.
